Amazon Warehouse is a closeout retail experience similar to Ross, Big Lots and other liquidation stores. Often times items with damaged boxes, imperfections and general returns end up here. After a thorough inspection by the Amazon Warehouse associates an adjusted price is determined for the product in question.
Once the item is approved for resale Amazon lists it on the product page when you click on the price. You’re looking for used item listings that display as sold by Amazon Warehouse.
Amazon will generally disclose a specific issue if they deem it necessary, but overall the deals are very generous to the consumer.
An added benefit to buying used and open box from Amazon is that you are backed by their returns policy for most items. Meaning that you get the same amazing customer service that you’d expect if the item were new.
In my past experiences with Amazon Warehouse I have purchased around 15 to 20 products marked as “Sold by Amazon Warehouse” and everything arrived in better than stated condition. If something is ever not as described you can return it for free.
For instance, I recently purchased a fancy Breville espresso maker. The listing stated that the item would have a lot of cosmetic imperfections. However, the espresso maker I received had no damage at all, in fact it looked brand new. This item purchased brand new would retail at a higher price and it would have been out of budget for me at this price. Amazon Warehouse made it possible for me to pick up this item for less than retail, there really are significant savings to be had!
